Personal Growth ... in Progress

Week 22 – Behind the 8 ball

Gah. I hate getting behind. I also hate the feeling of those bad habits niggling ever so slightly in my rear view mirror.

It’s nothing drastic, but I find it throws me off balance and surprisingly, takes me a couple of days to feel like I’m back on track again.

A good thing, I say!

Anyway … I must back track to Week 20, as promised. It was adding the 7 levels of thinking to go along with the 5 tools for expanding … so, to refresh, those were Fear, Guilt, Anger, Hurt Feelings and Unworthiness.

We have learned to take those 5 feelings and turn them around; acknowledge them for what they are, then use them in a positive light. So what are the companion tools?

1. Copy – we are copying what we are doing and learning

2. Effective – what is more effective? If you can create a positive effect then you become …

3. Efficient – being effective in the right way makes you efficient

4. Improving – all great innovators, motivators, entrepreneurs are always striving to improve not only in their work but most importantly, in themselves

5. Cutting – eliminating things that will not drive you towards your goal. Garbage in, garbage out.

6. Different – we’ve learned to look at things differently; mainly, thinking for ourselves. We are individuals, not sheep in the herd.

7. Impossible – I m possible – when you believe that the impossible becomes possible – because everything truly is!

As we get closer to the end of our 6 month journey, the culmination of our readings, exercises, thoughts, writings have all changed my perspective of not only life, but of myself.

It’s learning to step outside the comfort zone and be the original, unique, me. I am in control of my thoughts, my life and my destiny.  I’ve been putting practise into action; time to put on the big girl pants and let go of the hand.

It’s making sure the eight ball is the last one in the pocket.

Week 21 – What is old is new

I was going to start off with the 7 levels of thinking as I said I would from my previous post but then I came across the 7 Laws of the Mind.

As I go through my older materials, I realize how much you don’t remember and how much the brain needs a refresher. Hey, I thought our minds were supposed to hold everything! It does, amazingly. It’s how we apply it is the trick.

Anyway, I have the 7 Laws of the Mind hand written and have it tucked in with my DMP, the Formula 5, Wooden’s Pyramid, Franklin’s Makeover and my various cards and flash cards. Quite a little bundle.

I hadn’t read the 7 Laws in a while so it was refreshing to go through them again. They embody all aspects of our daily lives. See if they apply to you …

Law of Substitution

We cannot think about two things at the same time. If a negative thought enters your mind – try to think about God instead. If that is too big a reach at the time, use any fond memory of pleasant thought. Jesus, the Master Teacher said “Resist not evil” ~ meaning turn from it and think about something else instead.

Law of Relaxation

Mental effort defeats itself ~ exactly the opposite of physical effort. A relaxed, calm state of mind is the only door way to progress mentally. Relaxation of thought is the only access to Infinite Intelligence.

Law of Practise

Practise makes perfect. The 5 P’s ~ Perfect Practise Prevents Poor Performance. Our bewilderment of magnificence in others , upon further inspection, finds, as Wooden shares “you’ll find most of it is practise, the rest of it is work”. With practise of correct things, we improve on the other six laws of the mind.

Law of Forgiveness

To access the Divine and connect the subconscious to the Omnipotent, Omnicient and Omnipresent Creator we must forgive everyone and anyone to clear the channel. There can be no connection to the Divine mind where anger or resentment against a brother or sister, justified or not, exists.

Law of Dual Thought

Thought is a combination of ideation and feeling. We can attach any feeling to a thought we want.

Law of Subconscious

As soon as the subconscious accepts and idea it becomes a demand and works constantly, 24/7, to manifest demand ~ accessing a reservoir of infinite resources.

Law of Growth

Whatever we think about grows. What we forget, atrophies.

These are no easy laws. They take daily reading and daily practise (remember Law 3) but with effort they become habit.

Before you know it, it’s no longer new … just part of your way of life.
